ISES DC started the holiday season early with a festive
party at the Clarendon Ballroom in Arlington, VA. Attended
by many familiar members and quite a few new faces,
the annual holiday party featured silent and live fundraising
auctions to benefit DC Foster Kids and ISES DC’s Scholarship
Fund. In fact, over $1000 was raised for the foster
children and additional money was raised to support
member scholarships to REC [Northeast Regional Education
Conference] and Eventworld.
Among
the auction items, the most popular were the Ritz Carlton
DC Weekend package (oh-la-la!) and the slot machine
(ca-ching, ca-ching!). Other activities included a ‘swustle’
(swing + hustle) dance lesson and professional demonstration,
as well as a Deck of Cards game to which the Grand Prize
was Dinner Cruise for 2 aboard the Odyssey.
Thank
you to all our generous contributors, as well as the
Auction and Program Committee members, who made our
party so special and helped raised money for such noteworthy
causes.
