The Greater Washington DC Chapter of ISES hosted its annual picnic at the Pavilions of Turkey Run in McLean – and oh the outrageous fun we had! In preparation for summer vacation, ISES DC hosted a ‘boardwalk’ themed picnic complete with food, drinks, a variety of entertainment, and some ‘tacky tourists’. The only thing missing was the beach, it was that well done.

We mingled over old-fashioned popcorn, wine, beer – and smoothies and then, devoured yummy hamburgers, hot dogs, BBQ chicken, juicy watermelon and refreshing Good Humor ice cream. In between, the music played, a fire eater and juggler performed, kids sat still to have their faces painted – and all these wonderful moments were caught on camera (some for guest’s to take home) and video. Later in the evening, kids and adults played in the moon bounce and on the Giant tricycles and dunked their favorite ISES buddies – and some little guests, too. Allison Silberman, a.k.a ‘Myrna from Orlando’, won hands-down a gift certificate to Morton’s for the best tackiest tourist award. And last but not least, we applauded our outgoing Board of Directors and installed your new Board of Directors.
