As
a busy Tuesday after a holiday weekend wound down,
90+ ISES members met at the National Museum of the
American Indian on October 11th to mix and mingle
with friends and colleagues. The museum’s wide open
interior allowed for endless creativity in lighting
and décor.
Digital
Lightning created a spectacular scene on the blank
slate walls that could be seen from all four terraces
of the building’s floors. Passed hors ‘d oeuvres made
the rounds on the 4th floor overlooking the grand
Potomac Atrium where dinner was to be served later.
A highlight of the cocktail reception, coconut shrimp
lollipops, couldn’t make it around the room.
A
clever presentation, in one of the museums two state
of the art theaters, by guest speaker Dawn Mixon of
D Solutions Marketing challenged us all to think about
our “USP” or unique selling proposition. With a hands-on
taste test, Dawn showed us how results can be achieved
instead of merely telling us. Her strong words and
examples made everyone in the room think just a bit
more about what it is that sets them apart from their
competition.
Following
Dawn’s presentation, guests made their way to the
“Potomac” and tasted exquisite fare provided by RSVP
Catering. The menu including shrimp and grapefruit
salad, beef filet and cheddar grits, and chocolate
praline crunch for dessert, delighted the pallet of
all who sampled.
