If
there was any doubt, yesterday's monthly luncheon
proved Spring is in the air and certainly on the minds
of our DC ISES members.
The
Westin Embassy Row served as the
meeting space under the direction of Scott
Button, Director of Food and Conference Services.
Guests were greeted before the registration tables
by baby chicks incorporated into the centerpiece of
a welcome table, the telltale sign of spring and rebirth.
Upstairs, the spacious balcony area provided room
for cocktails and networking as the sounds of piano
provided by Kevin Olivera of Olivera Music
Entertainment floated through the room. As
guests mixed and mingled they got their first look
of the elegant ballroom below, and the I Love NY t-shirt
goodies, provided by speaker Jaclyn Bernstein, that
awaited them at their lunch tables.
Later, guests slowly made their way downstairs into
the ballroom to hear Jaclyn Bernstein of Empire Force
Events in New York City address "5 Star Service-
What it REALLY Means to be an Event Producer".
Her discussion outlined:

A
captive audience listened as lunch of Butternut Squash
Bisque and Grilled Asian Salmon was served.
Not to be overshadowed by the T-shirts guest would
be walking away with, the floral designs created by
Richard Davis and his team at Amaryllis
were truly the talk of the afternoon. The creative
spring theme was not only conveyed by Rick's 2-day-old
chicks on display in the entrance to the ballroom,
but by the vibrant Tulips and branches of blooming
Cherry Trees, a staple of spring time in Washington,
DC, used to top off the sage green linens. The tabletops
were completed by menu cards from Toni Footer
of The Write Image in tones of gold
and plum.
The afternoon ended with a sweet new treat and a nod
to warmer weather when Mitch Rotker
of Smoothie Time unveiled his new
ice cream mixing stations for dessert.
Special thanks also goes out to Jack Hartzman
of Washington Talent Photo and Video
as his staff captured the afternoon for all to view
and remember. Please
