The New
Scope
Starting
off the New Year with a bang was exactly what 166
guests did on Tuesday, January 16th at the National
Press Club in Washington DC. Among the 10 + new members
that stood to introduce themselves that evening was
Lynn Biondi of KaBloom Fallsgrove who partnered with
Donna Felter of Gala Cloths to compliment the reception
rooms of the Press Club with mango linens and an assortment
of brilliant floral arrangements. Guests kicked off
the evening with a heavy cocktail reception featuring
favorites such as roasted leg of lamb, lobster bisque,
crab cakes, ceviche and risotto with parm wheel to
name a few.
Guests
then moved into an inspiring program where they were
wowed by pictures of events produced by industry giant
Richard Carbotti and his two sons. The captive audience
sat in awe with minds racing for an hour listening
to stories of how these events came to be. No doubt
they would have stayed longer, but not to worry, Richard
will be back in March as a guest speaker at the Northeast
REC the DC chapter is hosting. Register today!
The
evening ended with a crowd favorite Ice Cream Sundae
bar, the second of many new interactive treats guests
will be able to create for themselves, as well as
flavored coffees. The crowd hung around until almost
10pm schmoozing with friends, while most previous
events have been empty by 9! A special thank you to
Larry Glatt for photographing the event, please see
his pictures on the link below, and Cara Lanza of
the National Press Club for hosting the event of the
year.
