Happy New Year ISES members!

How many of us have made New Year's resolutions just to see them broken in a few short weeks? How many times have we felt that a job is overwhelming or just too big for us to wrap our minds around? And how many times have you felt alone and struggling with a problem that you just see no solution for?

I know I've been there more times than I want to admit. Quitting a bad habit, bit off more than I now think I can chew or feeling like I had to solve a solution on my own with no answer in sight. In retrospect the solution that all of these have in common is support. Asking a loved one to help me overcome a bad habit by replacing it with a good one, asking for help with a big job and calling an expert to brainstorm for a good outcome.

This year I resolve to reach out for help when needed. This is especially why I'm so thankful for my ISES friends. I may not ask them for support in breaking a habit, but my friends and associates that I've met through ISES have been invaluable in coming together to pull off the largest, most extraordinary jobs and making it look easy! They have also helped me more times than I can express in this blog with problems I could never have solved on my own.

My resolution this year is to remember that if I have job too big all I need to do is pull out my ISES directory to get help and if I have a problem that I can't solve on my own I have many friends I've made through ISES that are much experienced and wiser than I, willing to give sage advice. I hope your resolution will include being active in ISES and taking advantage of all the programs they have to offer, go to networking events to make friends and find those experts who offer such great sage advice. It's been one of the sharpest tools in my professional belt.

I thought I'd share a clip of one of the largest, most problematic jobs we've tackled that ISES members, past and present, helped us brainstorm, problem solve and implement to a fantastic end.
