Greater Washington, DC ISES Annual EXPO
Marriott Wardman Park Hotel
Wednesday, November 5
ISES
Members and guests searching for clever ideas in entertainment,
linens, lighting, catering and other specialty event
services found new options at the Annual ISES DC EXPO
on Wednesday, November 5 at the Marriott Wardman Park
hotel in Washington, DC. Despite freakish storms and
tornados that ripped through the metro area, guests
visited the exhibitor booths, sat in on the educational
seminars, and networked their way around the yummy
food stations.
Excitement
from the trade show floor included new items like
a chocolate fountain made of the finest Belgium chocolate
from SmoothieTime, Air Flames from Fireworks Concepts,
an updated fully customizable electronic "Jeopardy"
game show from Ultimate Entertainment and from the
creative studio of Jenny Lehman, we saw how she incorporates
movie film into her special event video production.
List
of Exhibitors
As
for the educational seminars, ISES guests went back
to class to learn about industry disciplines. Each
of the seminars had over 25 attendees, the greatest
turnout we have seen in the ISES DC history. We were
excited to offer sessions clearly of interest to the
members and in time frames that were complimentary
to the main event.
Fireworks
and Special EFX: Denis O'Regan focused
on safety and logistics with a primary focus
on insurance requirements
Napkin
Folding and Table Fluffing: Dulany
Noble offered lots of hands on experience with
a history of table linen use. In the early days,
people in households that used napkins re-used
them often. The person setting the table often
used different folds to differentiate who's
used napkins was whose.
Flower
Basics: Nick Perez presented a lively
discussion on the philosophy and fun of creating
wonderful and unique decor.
Tenting:
Davis Richardson offered more then the basics,
but knowledge to help event planners make educated
decision on the choice and issues in choosing
a tent and a tent company. |
Congratulations to Jennifer Gallagher of Sierra Management
and Tech, Inc. whose EXPO evaluation form was selected
at random to win a gift certificate to Café
Ole, a new ISES member and EXPO exhibitor.
