Perfect
Settings' Warehouse was the perfect
setting for our October 14 meeting complete
with cocktail reception, tours of the
facility, lunch, and a panel of outstanding
ISES members to teach us about themed
events. With well over 100 ISES
members and guests in attendance, our
classroom was large.
Topics for school included hot new trends
in themed events, going green; how to
do it, understanding the presidential
inauguration and how to be a part of
a successful event. The class teachers
were: Ray Bialek, Bialek's Music,
Moderator; Peter Grazzini, Perfect Settings;
Alexis Lindsay, Monumental Affairs; Lois
Finley, Event Digital Photography; and
Jeff Monner, Talking Tree Creative.
ISES DC Chapter President, Renee Stake,
sent us away with homework: "go grab
dessert!"
Monumental
Affairs catered
the event offering an array of mouth-watering
entrees and desserts on their lunch buffet.
The buffet included Salisbury steak and
mashed potatoes, porcini rubbed beef
tenderloin, coriander rubber chicken
breasts, macaroni and cheese (but not
like grandma made) with rock lobster
and gemelli pasta, fontina and gruyere
cheeses. The desserts were delectable:
peanut butter cheesecake with blackberry
compote, apple pie with sweet cream,
and chocolate cake that exploded with
chocolate pouring out of the center as
soon as your fork broke into it and topped
with pistachio ice cream. I must
admit, I went back for seconds!
Perfect Settings provided the venue, the linens, the tables
and chairs, the place settings, and the
wonderful tours of their facility offering
a true understanding of just how expansive
their inventory is; with thousands of
linens, place settings, serving pieces,
their own in house laundry facility and
dish washing area, stacks of chairs,
tables, and much much more.
Event
Digital Photography
set up their green screen photography
station and offered 5x7 photos printed
onsite during the event for guests to
take home with them. The guests
could choose one of the custom "School&" backgrounds
for their picture. They also provided
the candid photography of the event.
Bialek's
Music Ltd.
provided the musical entertainment during
the cocktail reception and lunch (...;and
Ray was an outstanding MC to the panel
discussion). Entertainment
Exchange
provided the audio equipment in order
to pod cast the lessons of the day. Keg
Bus
provided transportation to and from the
metro and the Perfect Settings Warehouse. And,
Exquisite
Design Studio provided gorgeous
floral centerpieces that were more than
pleasant to the eye.
