ISES DC got a taste of what a summer
night is like at the district’s
newest hot spot- the National Harbor.
The beautiful, yet humid evening started
out with our ISES DC 10+ members catching up on Washington’s
newest historic site-- the Miss Ann.
Members also enjoyed escaping away from
everyday life by relaxing on comfy beach sofas that were supplied
by Rooms Services. Instyle Caterers delighted members’ pallets
with cold summer drinks and delicious
Mediterranean fare. Radio King Orchestra
set an elegant tone for easy listening and trouble-free conversation,
while Talk of the Town had members feeling like the Kentucky Derby’s
Calvin Borrell as members took a ride on their horse toys. Renewing
members and potential new members got a chance to win a prize from
the Balloon Dart Board (Talk of the Town) which also served as a
membership drive. New member Lauren Marley (O’Keefe Communications)
experienced her first ISES DC event and said she was “pleased
to find how open and friendly everyone was.” A surprise shower
came through towards the end of the evening, but what’s a
real DC summer night without a little rainfall? Thanks to the shuttle
services provided by Linder & Associates,
attendees were able to get back to their
cars dry and worry-free. Despite the
unreliable weather, it was a lovely evening and by the end of the
night, everyone left with new friendships, new ideas and a renewed
sense of what ISES DC is all about.
