"It never fails. Every time I go to Eventworld,
I obtain great ideas for my upcoming events. And whenever
I attend the Esprit Awards, I get re-energized to produce
the best events possible!"

Want to be an architect
of great ideas? "Good ideas surround us", says Jeffrey
Cufaude in his session on innovation. Innovation comes
not from need, but from noticing what hasn't been noticed
yet. You can uncover great ideas by slowing down and
paying attention to things.
Think outside the box and be persistent. Remember, it's
ok to fail at hundreds of ideas because they can lead
to one successful innovation. "Plussing", or making
something slightly better, (just like OnStar, Southwest
Airlines and FedEx Kinko's) is another great way to
innovate.

How does a swimmer go
from being very good to Best in the World? Mark Tewksbury
took us through his journey to winning an Olympic Gold
Medal in swimming, an accomplishment that still seems
to amaze and delight him.
Artfully comparing his process to ours, he spoke of the
importance of concentrating on one's routine, but also
being willing to change it to achieve greatness. His presentation
ended with footage of his actual Olympic win. And even
though we knew the result, we all found ourselves cheering
him on with heartfelt emotion.

A note of thanks from Caren Milman:
The 19th Annual MS Walk took place on April 14, 2007. I am proud to have been the captain of Team Milman et al. for 7 years in a row. It is very exciting to report that this year's team of 52 walkers was honored as the highest fundraising team of all 470 teams that participated. The $51,394 we raised will be used to fund research to find a cure for multiple sclerosis.
This year, our team T-shirts were sponsored by 45 local companies - 18 of which were ISES members! In addition, thanks to the many other generous ISES members who donated to our efforts. We could not have achieved our fundraising goal without all of you! I must make special mention of Bonnie Schwartz, our team's highest individual fundraiser, and of Pat Richitt and his family who came out that Saturday morning and walked with us.
Thank you all. We appreciate your generosity so much!
Next year's event is set for Saturday, April 5, 2008.
Please contact me at cmcalligraphy@verizon.net
for more information about how to participate. You don't
have to walk to get involved and I can accept donations
anytime.
