There are lots of ways you can get involved with ISES DC and help us bring value your peers and your profession. The time commitment for each varies, but rarely exceeds a few hours per month and some roles can be taken on for however long and whenever convenient for you! Here are just a few areas for your consideration...
- Events
- Planner: Define overall goals & strategies; Identify venue; contract date; solicit in-kind sponsors; coordinate promotion; arrange educational component; oversee on-site prep and production.
- Set-Up Assistant: Help planners with venue set-up on the day of the event.
- Expo
- Planner: Define overall goals & strategies; Identify venue; contract date; solicit in-kind sponsors; coordinate promotion; arrange educational component; oversee on-site prep and production.
- Set-Up/Strike Assistant: Help planners with venue set-up and strike on the day of the event.
- Exhibits Manager: Layout exhibit floor; Assign booths; Coordinate load-in, set-up and tear-down.
- Exhibits Sales Rep: Solicit exhibitors.
- Gala
- Planner: Define overall goals & strategies; Identify venue; contract date; solicit in-kind sponsors; coordinate promotion; oversee on-site prep and production.
- Set-Up/Strike Assistant: Help planners with venue set-up and strike on the day of the event.
- Capital Awards
- Planner: Define overall goals & strategies; Review and, as needed, update award entry guidelines and judging criteria; Solicit judging chapter; Coordinate promotion, judging and awards presentation.
- Usher: Greet, seat and guide nominees and assist with presentation of award trophies.
- Front Desk
- Greeter: Welcome and, as needed, guide attendees on arrival.
- Registrar: Set-up registration desk; Register attendees on site.
- Marketing/Communications
- Planner: Devise marketing/communication goals & strategies which will support the promotion of chapter programs and services.
- Reporter: Write-up highlights of an event; interview members for spotlight.
- Reviewer: Scan information sources for articles, websites, tools, etc. of potential interest to members.
- Editor: Collect and edit copy from reporters and other sources.
- Designer: Provide graphical design and layout for chapter communications.
- Sponsorship
- Planners: Define overall goals & strategies; Compile prospect lists; Review and, as needed, update sponsorship packages; Devise solicitation plan and coordinate implementation.
- Sales Rep: Call on members to solicit sponsorship.
- Coordinator: Work with team leaders to ensure they have the in-kind sponsorship needed to produce their programs and ensure the sponsors receive the full benefit of their contribution.
- Membership
- Planners: Devise recruitment and retention goals & strategies and coordinate implementation.
- Prospectors: Scan for and identify prospects.
- Solicitors: Call on non-members to solicit membership.
- Greeters: Call on new members to welcome to the chapter.
- Facilitators: Assist members with usage of benefits.
- Presenters: Develop and present orientation ISES 101 sessions.
