"Welcome Back" Luncheon Recap

Welcome
Back, ISES DC !
September’s
luncheon at the Roof Terrace Restaurant in the Kennedy
Center was outstanding! The recently refurbished room,
opened only 4 days, was decked out in beautiful fall
colors and our members and guests were among the first
to experience the transformation.
Our
speaker, Mr. Mahan Tavakoli from Dale Carnegie Training,
kicked off our 2003-2004 program year with an invigorating
presentation on effective networking. His three principles
for effective networking include 1) introducing yourself
to someone you do not know and asking probing, and
sometimes more personal, questions to establish a
relationship and foster long-term memory; 2) introduce
yourself by telling a customer success story; and
3) It’s not who you meet but WHO wants to meet YOU!
Other
fun news included Julee Staley of Ridgewells, who
one $108 from the 50-50 collection; Cherie Farrington
of Events Work, LLC and new member, who was randomly
selected from the returned Committee Sign up forms
to receive free admission to our October luncheon;
and Tesa A. Porter of Classic Event Management, LLC,
who was randomly selected for a free one-time use
of our mailing list.
